What a 2 carat diamond looks like
A 2 carat round is 8.0 to 8.2mm across. That's big on most hands. October 2026 medians for a G / VS1 round were $19,910 natural and $798 lab-grown.
2.00ct is another round number with its own premium on natural stones, and a 1.90 looks almost the same. Shape moved the price as well. A natural 2 carat cushion had a median of $15,821, about $4,100 under the round, and ovals ran a little higher ($21,116) while looking bigger from above.
Clarity, color and lab-grown at 2 carats
Inclusions and body color both get easier to see at 2 carats, so VS clarity and a near-colorless G or H start to earn their price here. For lab-grown, look up two things on the listing: how it was grown (our HPHT vs CVD page explains the difference) and which lab graded it, covered in GIA vs IGI for lab-grown.
